Estate Planning and Administration:
Brian Halligan provides both estate planning advice and estate and trust administration regarding New Jersey and New York. He creates estate plans to fit the particular needs and objectives of each client including providing for children and grandchildren, reducing exposure to taxes and creating an effective business succession plan for family businesses. Mr. Halligan also provides legal advice with respect to administration of estates and trusts and prepares any necessary state inheritance tax returns and federal or state estate tax returns that may be required. Mr. Halligan also has extensive experience in litigation in estate and probate matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey Chancery Division in the event any issues arise between beneficiaries. He also has experience in representing clients in guardianship matters.
Real Estate:
Brian Halligan regularly represents business and individual sellers and buyers of commercial and residential real estate. He is experienced in representing buyers and sellers of real estate in both New Jersey and New York. His real estate services include all aspects of real estate including purchases, sales, refinances, residential property, commercial transactions and zoning issues. He also represents landlords and tenants regarding residential and commercial leases.
Litigation:
Mr. Halligan represents clients in various courts in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Halligan has litigated numerous matters involving contract enforcement, real estate disputes, construction problems, estate litigation matters and corporate disputes of all types.
Business Transactions & Commercial Law:
Mr. Halligan has extensive experience in forming and counseling closely held businesses including corporations, limited liability companies, general partnerships and sole proprietorships. Mr. Halligan also prepares shareholder agreements, operating agreements and partnership agreements. He represents clients with respect to rights and obligations arising out of contracts and other commercial transactions involving those businesses.
